Statement of Faith
This site believes:
- that the Triune God’s Church must be one, and in a sense so that this unity is both visible and invisible (John 17:11, 1 Corinthians 1:10-13, Ephesians 4:1-6, Philippians 2:1-2, 1 Peter 3:8)
- that God’s “breath” transmitted authority to Man (Genesis 1:26-2:7), to the bishops (John 20:21-23), and to Scripture (2 Timothy 3:16-17)
- that the Pope is the Church’s head, has the capacity to exercise all authority of Hers (Matthew 16:18, John 21:17), and, like Eliakim (Isaiah 22:20-22), represents our King
- that the institutional Church alone holds the right to ultimate interpretation of Scripture and definition of doctrine (1 Thessalonians 4:1-2, 1 Timothy 3:15)
- that all must be in accord with the Church to be saved (John 13:20)
- that both faith and the disposition to good works, all under God’s grace, are required for salvation (Psalm 15, Ephesians 2:8-10, James 2:14-26, Athanasian Creed)
- that the Eucharist is key (Luke 22:28-30) and, for Christians, Jesus is “recognized..in the breaking of the bread” (Luke 24:35) — as in John 6 — and, even in the early days, they “[broke] bread from house to house” (Acts 2:46)
- that Christians must assist in building up the Lord’s Kingdom (Matthew 28:16-20)
- and that Christ will one day return, judge, and reign on earth (Matthew 25:31-46, John 18:36-37).
